Thank you for this eloquent post, Lolly. What is happening is the horror we hoped we never would see when we were studying there together 40 years ago. My heart is breaking for the Ukraine people. I just watched Anderson Cooper interview a young mother in a bomb shelter with 3 small children. They decided to stay in Kyiv and be with their people, even as the tanks charge towards her city. I am terrified for her. I hope the world can find more ways to help the Ukrainians fight and survive this awful horrible moment in our history. Keep writing about this, Lolly - people need to hear it (And I love everything you’ve been writing about the flowers and the bees, too!) ❤️

Thank you, Laura. I have such vivid memories of that summer with you in the USSR. What's happening now was as unimaginable then as it is today.
Great to have your perspective Lolly. And hope!
