Oak trees are ubiquitous in California, and in the Sierra foothills and far reaches of Northern California we have a lot of black and white oak with the leaves like the ones in your photograph. I love oak tress, and I love your blogs. Thanks, Abner for pointing me in this direction!

I also recall seeing lots of live oaks (Quercus agrifolia) in SoCal. Those trees have personality! Thanks for representing the West coast on here, Tori!

We have 9 in our yard after having 4 removed due to disease. Glad you planted crepe myrtles
